2. My faith
3. My wonderful family
4. My friends
5. Being a mom
6. Being able to host an exchange student, we love Nadja so much. Can't imagine our day without her and her sweetness. (We must plan and hope for a trip to Hamburg Germany someday!)
7. SONdays....love this day and the start of a new week....family time, church time and overall just relaxing day.
8. Rest
9. Sunshine
10. New position closer to home...
11. My dd making awesome grades and doing so well in school.
12. The gift of life today, it is hard to believe that 47 years ago I was born in Africa to 2 wonderful parents. I had the best upbringing. I had so many opportnities to enjoy my childhood with travels, wonderful times
with my siblings and family and so much love and structure.

**I am so determined to have a great year and vow to not let all that happened in 09 define me today and in the future. There is always HOPE with God's love and presence.

Make it a great day,

A new day to tackle life's challenges......

Pray, pray and pray.

Dear God,

Thank you for this beautiful day.  Thank you for your continued blessings and protection today.  Thank you for hearing my prayers and for answering them today.  Thank you for providing our basic needs and for showing me the direction and paths I need to take today.  Thank you for showing my girls that you are with us and would never leave us even when it feels or looks like it.  Use us today to show your love and kindness.  Help us to forgive others as you have forgiven us.  Even though the picture looks bleak today, I am determined to believe that there is a hope for our future.  Thank you for loving us and for your grace when we least deserve it.  Thank you for our family and friends and for those who have helped us along this journey of life.  Most of all thank you for my girls, the responsibility of being their mom and for you son who died on the cross for our sins.

Amen!

Do you ever question your faith, God's love and wonder where He is?

After today I can honestly say YES to this question.  I am determined to believe that God does love me/us and that he will provide for us even with what happened today.  I am wondering if crying would help or just make me feel worse....I feel hopeless at the moment, sad that my life has come to this and scared for what may come in a couple of weeks regarding my home.  I have prayed and will continue to pray for a miracle or two.

I will admit that emotionally I am tired and exhausted and would so throw in the towel today if not for my girls.

So tomorrow I hope will be a new day full of God's blessings and protection.

I really dislike feeling like this because I know there are others who have it tougher and are experiencing life issues much more difficult so I will continue to pray for all who continue to struggle during these hard times.  Just know you are not alone and if you need to talk please feel free.  I would love to hear from you.

Thanks for stopping by and for taking the time to leave a comment should you feel up to it.

A Decade, A New Year, A New and Fresh Start for all of us in 2010!!

What a wonderful promise this verse is!
"Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation, old things
have passed away; behold all things have become new."
~2 Corinthians 5:17~

2010 is a new decade, a new year, a new and fresh start that I hope will bring about a new us and a new me in many ways.

It is hard to believe that 10 years ago I was blessed with my millenium miracle and sweet baby girl Demi.  The time has passed so quickly and yet when I reflect on the time, it doesnt seem possible that ten years have passed by so fast.  Also when I look at pictures I am amazed at how much our lives have been filled with so much joy and laughter because of one child, mine!  I love her so much and thank God for giving me the responsibility of being her mom while she is here on earth.

In 2009, I really did not set any goals or resolutions but I am going to post my list of a few things I hope to accomplish in this new year for myself and with the girls.  I have never been a planner but really think that has our lives become busier that this will help us in our daily lives and with the months to come while Nadja is here from Germany.  I have decided that with children and schedules that it is necesaary.  Am I the only one who lives like this?

So last night Nadja and I went to my sister's Sheri's house to eat our new year meal together.  Our meal consisted of the American traditions of eating cabbage (money) and black eyed peas (God's Blessings and Plan) along with ham and mac and cheese.  I love bringing in the new year with family and must admit I am missing my lil dem dem whlle she brings in the new year with her best friend Kenzie.  I am hoping she enjoyed her day with them yestserday.

I am still deciding on my word for 2010  (www.aliedwards.typepad.com).  Some of the words I am tossing around are LOVE, FAITH, OPEN, DETERMINED, NEW - I would love to have a mission statement this year as well.  I guess that is the sales person in me.

My prayer and hope for you this new year 2010 is that you are encouraged you to live by faith.
Remember that the Word of God tells us that "faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of
things unseen". Take these words and memorize them and ponder them in your heart!

"Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
~
Hebrews 11:1~

Let's start this New Year fresh. If you do not know Jesus Christ
as your personal savior........ let me invite you to become a Christian.

It's as easy as ABC to give your heart to the Lord.
All you have to do is:

Admit you are a sinner. Romans 3:23
Believe Jesus died on the cross for you. Acts 16:31
Confess your sin to God and turn from it. Romans 10:9

If you are a Christian..........it is time for you to decide. Will you turn the
control of your life over to the Lord? Will you let Him guide and direct you?

I pray and hope that I will be faithful and trust in the Lord with all my heart everday.  I hope you decided to join me on this journey this year.  The best gift you can give yourself and those you love is ask the Lord Savior into your life.  Maybe you have done this before and fallen off.  Maybe you feel lost today and want to experience all that God has to offer.  God is LOVE and and one thing I know is that everyday is a gift.

God only promises us today. We don't know what is ahead of us. But God knows.
He doesn't always show us what is in store for us or even if we will have a tomorrow.
So we should live our lives as if each day is the last.  God knows the plans he has for us, plans to prosper us and to keep us from harm.  Jeremiah 29:11.

Happy New Year 2010 to you and your families,
Diana
